Survey Party Chief

In this position, you'll have access to cutting-edge surveying technology, including GPS, Robotic Total Stations, Drones, and Sonar for bathymetry, as well as a proprietary survey technician training program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver construction survey layout including roadwork, pipe, earthworks grading, structures layout, as-built, and topographical data capture.

  • Perform data acquisition using remote sensing

  • Coordinate work activity and survey requests with Project Managers

  • Perform field calculations, and interpret survey plans and engineering drawings

  • Provide mentorship to Survey Assistants

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Survey Crew Chief

  • Post Secondary education in Geomatics or equivalent experience

  • Experience with Robotic Total Stations and GNSS receivers

  • Valid driver’s license and clean abstract

  • Willingness to work regularly scheduled shifts on the road as required

  • Willingness to work in all weather conditions, in all seasons

  • Ability to think on your feet and react efficiently to requests

Project Coordinator

You will be the first point of contact for clients and responsible for building positive and lasting relationships. As the master scheduler for all projects, you will manage crew scheduling and ensure the field crews have all that is required for them to fulfill their role effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Promptly respond to and screen all incoming voice, email, and ServiceM8 booking and opportunity inquiries

  • Schedule crews in ServiceM8 and coordinate and advise clients of upcoming appointments, information required, etc.

  • Research and learn ways to use ServiceM8, SharePoint, and our other digital tools to their full potential.

  • Manage the next steps, re-bookings, emergencies, etc., with field crews.

  • Keep project logs and reporting current and up to date.

  • Move projects through workflows per SOPs (Quote-Prep-Schedule-Field work - Drafting-QA-Issue-Invoice, etc.)

  • Set up new quotes and projects in ServiceM8 and Project Management Tool as per SOPs. (Collector correct files, AP details, project contacts and location, etc.)

  • Request project information as required and organize and archive files within the appropriate directories in SharePoint

  • Work closely with field crews and drafting to manage and meet milestones and deadlines

  • Work with all parts of the business to ensure we deliver the best quality service and projects we can

  • Train clients around using our online booking system and the importance of being thorough

  • Support the CFO in setting up an inventory system and coordinate with crews to order supplies as required for survey supplies, first aid, PPE, and COR

  • Support the CFO in other areas of her role as and when required (Basic book-keeping, SOP development, calendar management, general administration)
