The Role

The Construction Surveyor role is accountable for the successful completion of survey projects for OSDC.

Relevant Skills and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in civil engineering or geomatics
  • Have a minimum of 1-2 years on heavy civil construction sites
  • Have exceptional customer skills
  • Knowledge of and ability to effectively use standard surveying instruments and tools
  • The ability to prioritize, schedule, and organize assigned tasks/projects to assure timely and cost-effective completion of projects
  • Easily adopt OSDCs standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Read and comprehend engineering plans and specifications
  • Physically healthy to perform job duties
  • Valid driver’s license and other documentation to support travel when and as required

Role and Responsibilities

  • Be passionate about working in a high pace dynamic environment
  • Working hard and doing your best is mandatory
  • Out of town work will be required for durations up to 3 weeks at a time
  • Liaison with the Client, other relevant parties, and our Staff both on site and in remote locations to obtain the information needed to instruct actions on site appropriately thereby ensuring the works proceed without delay.
  • Customer Management skills
  • Be readily prepared to contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of Survey SOPs and Best Practices
  • Comply with general Company Quality System and Procedures
  • To provide visible leadership and lead by example around sites and the office
  • Represent the company to the Customer, subcontractors and the public in a professional and ethical manner
  • Maintain the company image and reputation in all facets of work and presentation whilst fostering strong relationships with Customers conducive to securing future work
  • Directly report to the Survey Lead

Job Types:

Full-time, Permanent

Salary:

$32.00-$42.00 per hour

  • Lake Country, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Construction: 1 year (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

  • 75% (preferred)
