Types of GPS Surveying

At Okanagan Survey & Design, we employ many methods of GPS Surveying depending on the situation at hand. We are trained and experienced with the latest technology so we can deliver the best possible results to our clients.
Static Surveying is the use of two or more receivers, each of which are tracking the same satellite. One receiver acts as the base, while the others act as remote receivers. Over time the data that is collected can be used to generate co-ordinates for unknown or untraversed areas. Static GPS surveys are typically used to establish highly accurate control over very long distances. Sub centimeter accuracy can be achieved depending on observation time and methods used to post process the raw data.
Real Time Kinematic, or RTK, Surveying offers enhanced satellite surveying resulting en even greater precision and accuracy. Where data needs to be extremely precise, Real Time Kinematic systems can provide results within 15mm of measurement.
At Okanagan Survey & Design, our objective is to provide a full range of survey options to our clients – from engineering and construction layout to mapping, volume calculations and settlement monitoring. Using the latest technology, we provide our clients with professional and cost effective solutions to meet all of their survey needs accurately and effectively.
